This is the UK One Box EMI Press of 'Rubber Soul' by The Beatles. This press is complete with the rare One Box EMI Parlophone label, the original inner sleeve and the exceptionally rare 'patents pending' small stereo laminated flipback Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve. In 1969 Parlophone briefly changed the label to 'one box' EMI, the common 'two box' was introduced in the early 70s. As such these presses and the 'patents pending' new design sleeves are now scarce.
The record is in Excellent condition. The heavy vinyl has a superb high gloss, every track looks sensational, there are just a few very light wispy marks. These are pretty insignificant, it still looks fabulous. On playing the sound is warm, rich and extremely clear. The Parlophone label is clean with bold black and bright silver. The text is sharp and there is very little spindle wear. The label is absolutely immaculate. The record is complete with the original EMI inner sleeve in very good plus condition with slight discolouration ( see last pics )
The Garrod & Lofthouse 'Patents Pending' flipback laminated sleeve is in Excellent condition. The colours are bright, the image is still sharp and the laminate has a stunning shine. The corners have just slight wear and the back has just the slightest discolouration. The flipbacks are completely sealed and intact and the unlaminated back cover is very good + The whole cover is very solid and the spine is very firm with clear text on a bright background.
