Description
Here is a rare copy of the very first pressing of Let It Be by The Beatles - the much sought-after Let It Be presentation box set on Apple (PXS 1) of 1970.
This box set includes a fine copy of the Get Back book, the original LP sleeve with the correct red Apple logo, and the correct very first pressing disc with the all-important 2U/2U matrices endings (all subsequent non-box set pressings feature higher numbers).
There is the outer box sleeve and the slide-out tray but the inner tray which sits inside the slide-out tray is missing (although replacements can easily be sourced if you so wish).
The first pressing 2U/2U disc looks brilliant in natural light and only shows up a few light marks when viewed under halogen lighting; it comfortably grades VG. The original fully laminated red Apple LP sleeve remains lovely and glossy but has acquired a little waviness over the years, and shows up an impression of the disc within; it also easily grades VG (UK Record Collector gradings).
The scarce original book, 'The Beatles Get Back', looks lovely and has clearly been very little used. All pages are present and all look great with no tears or unwanted writing. Four pages are loose but this is far from unusual and nothing to do with wear or abuse (they come apart far too easily!) and as none of these pages are creased in any way they can be easily and invisibly rebonded if this is considered necessary.
The outer box remains glossy but suffers a little edge and corner wear and some creasing; however, there has been NO touching up anywhere and this outer box section remains original and unmessed with, as indeed does this whole set. The original sliding tray is fully intact but exhibits creasing and edgewear. And just to remind you once again - the inner tray which normally sits inside the slide-out tray is missing from the set offered here.
