VERY NICE 3RD STATE PEELED BUTCHER COVER! FRONT COVER PEELED 100% AND BEAUTIFUL!
AN ORIGINAL 1966 MONO 3RD STATE 'PEELED' BUTCHER COVER ISSUE OF THE BEATLES CLASSIC 'YESTERDAY & TODAY' LP IN NICE CONDITION! (Capitol T-2553) INTACT WITH A VERY NICE FRONT COVER BUTCHER SLICK 100% ALL THERE. ONLY 1/4" OR SO "TIP WEAR" AT THE TOP RIGHT CORNER. SPINE HAS A 3" REPAIRED SPLIT AT THE BOTTOM. MUCH OF THE PRINT IS PRESENT. ALSO COMES WITH TWO COPIES OF TWO VERSIONS OF THE ORIGINAL LETTERS OF RECALL ASKING THE DISTRIBUTORS AND RETAILERS TO RETURN THIS LP BACK IN 1966! THIS COVER IS FROM THE LOS ANGELES, CA FACTORY (#6 ON THE BACK). ORIGINAL 1966 CAPITOL RECORDS INNER SLEEVE IS INCLUDED AS WELL! (record is included with small label tear and vg- vinyl.) ("Peeled or 3rd state")" refers to the fact that the "Trunk Cover" that was adhered over the famous Butcher Cover beneath has been successfully removed to reveal the butcher cover in all it's glory!! This "paste over" replacement slick was originally pasted over the butcher cover to conceal the "controversial" nature of hte butcher photo!).
A BEAUTIFUL FRONT BUTCHER COVER FOR SURE! WOULD FRAME BEAUTIFULLY! BACK HAS SOME AGE MELLOWING AND LIGHT SOILING.
