Here we have a wonderful addition to any Beatles collector's collection. As most collectors know, long before The Beatles had recorded Love Me Do at Abbey Road, they had actually recorded a few sides with Tony Sheridan in Hamburg, only one of these was actually released inthe UK "My Bonnie", but whilst the Beatles releases started to gain fever pitch,Polydor (who owned the recordings) were quick to capitalise, and rereleased My Bonnie, followed by Why/Cry For A Shadow and Ain't She Sweet/ If You "Love"(actually "Leave") Me Baby. These are great tracks and did sell, but comparatively poorly without the complicit advertisement from the boys themselves, and the sound was clearly set firmly in their "cutting their teeth reinventing cover versions"gear,rather than the dizzy heights of pretty much reinventing UK songwriting original material! Therefore most Beatles fans stayed away from these releases, great though they are.
Here we have a very first pressing of their most warmly recieved Polydor single in the UK, still extremely scarce, but  listening to it,you can definitely hear why. The B-side has Tony Sheridan singing the lead, but the A-side "Ain't She Sweet" is a rollocking Lennon led vocal track,and genuinely I think could fit extremely well on either of their first two LPs! A really wonderful performance,that really does exemplify what it was that put them up above all the others on the same circuit as them at the time, even before they started writing their own tracks!
Record Condition: VG+, the A-side is very strong even when angled under strong,direct light there is one very light surface line and a handful of featherlight hairlines, an absolutely wonderful audio experience of a fantastic track! The B-side is pretty much identical, but for the fact that the surface lineis a little more obvious,and if you really listen for it, you can make out a few very light ticks, but again,only if you know where they are and listen out for them. Really great!
Labels Condition: EX- pretty much faultless, a few extremely light spindle trails only directly next to the central spindle hole of the B-side (it seems it's only really been the Lennon-led track that's been listened to!) only visible when angled into strong direct light. A tiny amount of whitening to the spindle hole (mainly the B-side again, but still barely noticable!) AReally beautiful example of these lovely labels. If you don't have this record, if you want to call yourself a self respecting Beatles collector, you need it!

I have collected records since I was very young, however Iincreasingly I have realised that I have far too many, and soI have been slowly trying to rationalise my extensive collection over the years, I have sold many major rarities over the years, from major BEATLES and 60s rarities, through PUNK and PROG ROCK, CLASSICAL and BLUES.
