Description

Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature my Beatles, Beatles – related and Rolling Stones records that are form my own personal collection, so here we go!

On offer, an extremely rare 1st U.K. STEREO pressing of The Beatles – A Hard Day’s Night on the YELLOW / BLACK Parlophone label, cat. no. PCS 3058.

The record is in VG minus to VG condition; there are some sounding scratches on both sides, the most prominent is on side 1. This scratch is rather long, begins in “I Should Have Known Better” and ends in “I’m Happy Just to Dance with You”. Further there are some non-sounding marks, hairlines and scuffs. The labels (with Parlophone Company in the Rim, “Sold in UK sentence and Recording First Published 1964 text) are in VG condition, there are a couple spindle marks and some wear around the spindle hole on both sides. The Tax Code is KT and can be found on side 1, the matrix numbers have the -1 / -1 endings, indicating the very first mother plates were used on pressing this Beatles stereo album.

The cover, a Garrod & Lofthouse printed one, is in VG condition; there is a top seam split of approx. 7 centimetres, there are some crinkles and creases on the front, mainly near the opening edge and there is a dink in the upper left corner. The record comes with an original EMITEX inner sleeve, which looks in VG condition; there is a bottom seam split of approx. 7 centimetres, some age browning and a tiny tear on the die-cut hole.

This is a very rare 1st U.K. STEREO pressing of the Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night album. Original 1960’s pressings of Beatles stereo albums are extremely hard to find, as mono was still a popular format. And although far from Mint condition, this is a very rare opportunity to complete your life-time Beatles record collection! A must have for all Beatles records collectors! Happy Bidding!
