THE BEATLES

“A HARD DAY’S NIGHT”

WOW!! RARE and hard-to-find original High Fidelity MONO very first press released in Chile in 1964 by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon, S.A. (Odeon Records), catalog number LDC-36506, with machine etched matrix numbers XEX 481-3N 2N (“N” inverted) 2 in Side 1 and XEX 482-3N 2N (“N” inverted) 2 in Side 2, with red wine (maroon)/silver labels with big unboxed Odeon Records logo!!! Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND!!! An authentic very first edition of “A HARD DAY’S NIGHT” released in Chile!!! As you must know, this record has an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, only used in Chile, and it’s one the rarest editions worldwide!!! A must for Beatles collectors!!!

“A HARD DAY’S NIGHT” was originally released in 1964 and the same year it was released in Chile, but like in most of the cases of that period, we got this album with an UNIQUE COVER!!! As you can see it has an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE and the cover is unlaminated and is the typical Chilean cover made of 2 single sheets of paper attached (not glued) to a thin cardboard kept together for an outer plastic bag which’s part of the cover. Front cover has an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, only used in Chile and back cover is also totally different, with album title written in Spanish and English, “Canciones de la película YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, PAUL, JOHN, GEORGE Y RINGO (A HARD DAY’S NIGHT) (La noche de un día agitado)” (Songs from the film Yeah, Yeah, Yea, Paul, John, George and Ringo) and with a complete review of the movie and the songs of sides 1 and 2 written in Spanish. It’s interesting to see that in back cover the sides are identified as “Faz Uno” and “Faz Dos” but in labels they are “A” and “B”. In back cover the tracklist is in English, translated to Spanish, but in labels the tracklist is in English only with the title of the album written in Spanish only. It’s also interesting to see that in front cover the title is “A HARD DAY’S NIGHT (YEAH YEAH YEAH) Canciones de la Película”, in back cover is “Canciones de la película YEAH, YEAH, YEAH, PAUL, JOHN, GEORGE Y RINGO (A HARD DAY’S NIGHT) (La noche de un día agitado)” and in labels it’s “Canciones de la Película “¡Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. Paul, John, George y Ringo!” (A Hard Day’s Night)”. So, yes Sirs, this is really one of those finds you don’t see so often, one of the original copies of this famous album released in Chile in 1964 with an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all The Beatles collectors worldwide!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great VG+ or EX- condition, clear and clean, no writings, with some general wear and little rips in all edges, except the bottom edge, with some age browning in back cover and an evident blemish in the side where the original outer plastic bag was opened, but the original outer plastic bag was removed for some past owner and the new plastic bag has worked very well to protect the fragile cover. This copy also has the rare original small orange sticker (not really a sticker, just a paper “floating” between the plastic and the paper cover) with original price: “SERIE SELECTA Y ESTELAR Eº 2600 PRECIO CONTADO” (Select And Stellar Serie Eº 2600 Cash Price). The record is thick and it’s in superb VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean but with some light hairlines and scuffs and some very light scratches which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in VG or VG+ condition the Side A, absolutely clean and clear, with moderate spindle hole wear and a black “box”, which was the worst idea some past owner had to repair the damage caused when some sticker was removed, and in EX+ or NM- condition the Side B, clean and clear, with only minimal spindle hole wear. The sound is the best part of this record, it’s in strong EX+ or NM- condition, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), no pops, no clicks, only some really light crackles here and there, more evident in the silent parts between the tracks, which of course don’t distract at all from the great sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Most of the songs play in absolute NM or NM+ condition!!! But I’d recommend a vacuum cleaning anyway, maybe the sound could even get better. Overall a record that after 50 years keeps still a nice and clean look and an amazing sound quality which won’t disappoint anyone, NO SKIPS, NO REPETITIONS, NO DISTORTIONS at all!!! And keep in mind this is one of the RAREST RELEASES of “A Hard Day’s Night” worldwide with an UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, only used here in Chile, and here you have the chance to get and own the very first press in great condition and complete with the little orange paper informing the original price!!! Yes Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a copy of this RARE record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile.

_________________________________________________________

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
