"NEVILLE THUMBCATCH" b/w "LADY ORANGE PEEL"
rare 1968 FREAKBEAT PSYCH 45 from the highly regarded ATTACK, later to form as 'ANDROMEDA' pressing 7"
Top beat band progressing in a psychedelic era, with a seriously good and special, somewhat tongue in cheek single about a nebbish closed-minded fellow who 'couldn't see the wood for the trees'! The Attack had suffered a great career damaging disappointment when recording 'HI HO SILVER LINING' - The Jeff Beck Group recording in the next studio heard their acetate, and despite it being nothing like their heavy blues style - Beck decided it was too good not to be a hit, got his version out and vigorously plugged with radio airplay! So an assured chart song eclipsed before The Attack saw their ambitions come to fruition. Few would doubt the worthyness of this single, had it gained the attention it deserved, to have become a classic. Oddly, actor lothario Peter Wyngarde also issued a somewhat stiffer rendition, but I don't think that received much notice either. Here's a rare chance to own this fantastic record in its' demo issue. Buy-it-now for the 1st buyer, those who prefer not to gamble against the clock and rival bidders, then wait for however long to see another copy! This is very hard to find now as an original issue in any format. It's in top top playing condition too.A great slice of quintessential British psych!

The vinyl is in MINT condition, not possible to find a finer copy.
Lables are NM, no pen or stains.
This simple plain white cover was stamped with the same date as is on the lable - so it is clearly the original one that the disc came from the record company with.
A superb playing copy of this extremely sought-after collectible single.
