I’ve been an eBay member for around 17 years with over 1700 100% positive feedback.
This is a relatively new account for music and memorabilia only.
Records are visually graded, but I do listen to intros for crackle and clarity, and play through any marks.
THE ARTWOODS – ART GALLERY – 1969 RE-ISSUE BUT STILL RARE – VG
Originally released in1966 this 1969 stereo re-issue on the Decca Eclipse label is a considerably cheaper option than the first pressing. In addition to Ronnie Wood’s older brother Art, the band included Jon Lord and Keef Hartley.
Rare in any condition, this copy has a few visual problems, in view of which I have played it through. Both sides have some hairlines and sleeve marks that can only be seen in a bright light, there are a couple of small scuffs on side one that wouldn’t show up in a photograph and three light scratches on side two that I have managed to photograph. These are not deep and cannot be felt with a fingernail.
In play, there is a light background static during run-ins and gaps between tracks that on a couple of occasions runs into the first 15 – 20 seconds of a track and can sometimes be heard in the quieter parts (there aren’t many quieter parts!). Occasionally there was a click that repeated 2 or 3 times. Both sides play all the way through with no sticks or jumps. Sound quality is great – it sounds much better than it looks.
Cover has scuffed corners and a few small spine splits. There is a sticker top right on the front and light ring marks both sides. Comes with original Decca blue, stereo inner sleeve.
I’ve probably been a bit hard on a 50-year-old record, but I don’t like selling things that aren’t perfect and it’s better to be pleasantly surprised that severely disappointed. It’s more than a collection filler, it’s a very listenable copy.
