TERRY DURHAM: Crystal Telephone (1969 Deram UK mono - DML 1042 - stamped matrix)
A forgotten classic! Terry Durham, poet, singer, songwriter, released his sole album in 1969 on the seminal Deram label. A freakbeat/jazz/blues masterpiece taking in avantgarde experimentation, heavy bluesriffing and parlando vocals... No wonder this album sold next to nothing upon release, making it highly desirable but increasingly hard to find. If Serge Gainsbourg had been british he would have sounded not unlike this.
Thick laminated non-gatefold cover in excellent condition, signs of usage, but no stickers, no writing, just a small stamp mark on the back cover.
The record is a very strong excellent; no marks, no jumps or skips, no hiss...
A once in a lifetime opportunity to obtain such a classic album. No serious collection can be complete without this astonishing record.
