This album is another from my personal collection! The vinyl has been stored in a case for over 25 years with the vinyl seperated from the sleeve and cover for protection!,, This is how i have always stored my records!!!  

Ssssh is a 1969 album by bluesrockers Ten Years After!!.

After several years of local success in the Nottingham/Mansfield area as a band known since 1962 as The Jaybirds (its core was formed in late 1960 as Ivan Jay and the Jaycats), and later as Ivan Jay and the Jaymen, Ten Years After was founded by Alvin Lee and Leo Lyons. Ivan Jay sang lead vocals from late 1960 to 1962 and was joined by Ric Lee in August 1965, replacing original drummer Dave Quickmire, who had joined in 1962. In 1966 The Jaybirds moved to London, where Chick Churchill joined the group. That November the quartet signed a manager, Chris Wright, and decided to change their name to Blues Trip, Blues Yard (under which they played a show at the Marquee Club supporting the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band)

Finally in November 1966, they changed to ''Ten Years After'' (in honour of Elvis Presley, an idol of Lee's whose momentous year in rock, 1956, helps to better explain the band's title). They became the first band of the soon-to-be Chrysalis Agency. They secured a residency at the Marquee, and received an invitation to play at the renowned Windsor Jazz Festival in 1967. That performance led to a contract with Deram, a subsidiary company of Decca – the first band so signed without a hit single. In October, their 1967 self-titled debut album was released.

THE VINYL

On visual inspection this vinyl is the original thicker heavier type of vinyl with deeper grooves and more robust than later pressings that were much more flimsier!!! The playing surface looks absolutely superbe. I can hardly see a blemish  I can't see any Needle scratches or any marks that would effect the play at all. In very stong light any other marks that could possibly be seen would have been caused by the vinyl being slid in and out of its cover. I have played this vinyl track for track and the audio is cristal clear and vibrant all of the way through. There is absolutely (no) skips or jumps nor any clicks or pops absolutely sounds and looks like a new vinyl, awesome!!  audio is graded at thevery top!!!! Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Any who know this album would appreciate that there are many quiet parts and please allow for some static  which would be quite normal for an album that is 39 years old, and this would benefit from a constant clean before each play because this has been stored in a case for at least 25 years, a build up of dust and dirt in the grooves after laying dormant!!Please note! I have noticed debrit left on the playing surface after play which indicates this!!. There is (no) distortion or signs of any grooveware at all or any indication that this has been overplayed at all this is one of the best that i hve ever heard of this pressing!!!!!! A truly superbe looking and sounding audio!!!!!! very very rare and collectable!!!!!  THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST AUDIO THAT I HAVE HEARD OF THIS PRESSING!!!! I REALLY CRANKED UP THE AUDIO ON THIS ONE! I THOUROUGHLY ENJOYED THIS VINYL!!!

THE LABELS

These are the original stereo Deram labels that carry the cat no SML 1029  Amaizingly just one or two  spider marks can only be seen angled to the light on each side This has not been over played at all  (IN FACT THIS HAS ONLY HAD THREE OR FOUR PLAYS EVER DEFINATELY SOUNDS HARDLY PLAYED IN 39 YEARS)!!! the spindle hole is perfectly round (NO) WARE!!!!!

THE RECORD SLEEVE.

This is the original DECCA STEREO poly line sleeve in superbe condition with just light creasing (no) splits or tares!!!!!

THE COVER

This is the original fully laminated ROBERT STACE  cover IS in superbe condition SUPER GLOSSY FINISH AND VERY RICH IN COLOUR with (no) creases in the cover at all to mention see photos)(no) splits or tares or nasty names written this is a superbe example with  little if (no) storage ware to the corners they are nice and square (see photo) very rarely seen like this ever!!!!!! lovely rich in colour and very glossy . grades near the top!!! very near pristine!!!! ABSOLUTELY STUNNING SQUARE SPINE!!! this must grade at least excellent plus!!!
