Eugene Onegin, Op. 24, (Yevgény Onégin) is an opera ("lyrical scenes") in 3 acts (7 scenes), by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The libretto was written by Konstantin Shilovsky and the composer and his brother Modest, and is based on the novel in verse by Alexander Pushkin.Eugene Onegin is a well-known example of lyric opera; the libretto very closely follows Pushkin's original, retaining much of his poetry, to which Tchaikovsky adds music of a dramatic nature. The story concerns a selfish hero who lives to regret his blasé rejection of a young woman's love and his careless incitement of a fatal duel with his best friend.The opera was first performed in Moscow in 1879. There are several recordings of it, and it is regularly performed. The work's title refers to the protagonist.

Grading:

SS = Still Sealed - album is still sealed in original shrink wrap and has never been opened.

M = Mint - as new - album is not sealed but appears to be unplayed.

NM = Near Mint - very few (if any) visible signs of use that do not affect play - the cover has only minor signs of wear.

EX = Excellent - some signs of usage, but very little lessening in sound quality - the cover might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VG = Very Good - no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch - normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items.

G = Good - A 'Good' grade record and sleeve has been played so often that there is noticeable deterioration of sound quality with possibly some distortion and mild scratches or scuffs. There will be no skips. The cover will be well worn and possibly torn.
