Taylor - “Taylor” LP (orig. New Zealand Polydor STEREO 2469 101)

Release date: June 1972.  Recording dates: 28 & 29 February + 1 March 1972.

On offer here is an ULTRA RARE original NEW ZEALAND issue of the only album by TAYLOR.  The Wellington-based group included lead guitarist/vocalist KEVIN BAYLEY (CHAPTA, ROCKINGHORSE), rhythm guitarist RICK WHITE (RELICS, TOM THUMB, FARMYARD), bass guitarist CLINTON BROWN (REBIRTH, TANGENT, ROCKINGHORSE), keyboardist/vocalist STEVE McDONALD (DIZZY LIMITS, TIMBERJACK) and drummer KEITH NORRIS (REBIRTH, TANGENT, ROCKINGHORSE).

The recordings contained within these grooves traverse a mixture of styles including hard boogie rock, progressive rock and rural rock.  As a result of poor sales at the time, this album has become a major collectors’ item and still appears on numerous wants lists.  I’ve included YouTube links to a few of my favourite LP cuts below.  Best of luck with your bidding!

front: EX matt finish with superb glossy appearance: completely insignificant ring-wear (outer rim – extremely hard to see), creasing (insignificant along spine & bottom seam / minor: left of opening edge), NO SEAM SPLITS, minimal surface rubbing.

back: EX+ matt finish—flipback: creasing (insignificant along top & bottom seams / very minor: right of opening edge), insignificant spot staining (near opening edge).

Record:

visual: EX++ beautiful glossy sheen—few completely insignificant hairlines on an otherwise exceptional disc (also few very light surface scuffs on side 2, therefore EX) (seen under strong light).

audible: M- SOUNDS SUPERB – A HIGHLY ENJOYABLE LISTENING EXPERIENCE!
