Description
Near mint EMI (UK) 9 LP box set “Vaughan Williams The Nine Symphonies” (EMI SLS 822, Stereo), Sir Adrian Boult conducting the London Philharmonic Orchestra and The New Philharmonia Orchestra. This 1970 set is on The Absolute Sound (TAS) super disc list for classical recordings of special merit.
In addition to the nine symphonies this fabulous set also includes several “smaller works” (as the liner notes describe them): In The Fen Country/Norfolk Rhapsody No 1/Serenade To Music/The Lark Ascending/Fantasia (Quasi Variazione) On The Old 104th Psalm Tune.
The nine LPs look and play near mint. The attached picture shows one of the LPs so you can see the label configuration. A few of the labels for some reason have the number 30 printed next to the spindle hole. All of the LPs are in audiophile quality sleeves some original and some after market. Included is a near mint 12 page booklet. The box has a small split on the top edge but is otherwise near mint.
