ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY STUNNING!
This, in fact, is the RCA (RDC-4) direct cut of Beethoven's "Appassionata" as played by Ikuyo Kamiya, renowned in audiophile circles worldwide as perhaps the very best piano record of all time.
It is on a Bosendorfer to die for, oh yes, captured in a recording that has plainly received reviews from music lovers and audiophiles alike as simply one of the best (yep, on the TAS list, too).
To bring this down to earth, let me just say, if you are a fan of the Gale Records or have stone-cold mint, first stampers of the Mercury Living Presence "hot six," then this disc is for you.
Be forewarned, however: Having a Bosendorfer, for all intents and purposes, right in your listening room, will require tightening of your listening chair's seat belt. Awesome sound here, that can quite literally billow across your listening-room floor.
Jacket of this copy is without any major failings, just has a punch hole. Original liner notes are enclosed (great read), while the record is pristine; near mint and better in playback.
Make no mistake, this is a benchmark recording; a vinyl treasure not to be missed. Worthy of the very finest audiophile library.
