Very hard to find french private debut of experimental vocalist Tamia with appearence of Bernard Vitet and in a dreamy journey a la Chene Noir.

Some info on the release:  Definetely one of the most important experimental albums of the 70's, this is her great debut released privately on her own T Records with vocal experiments from obscure avant-garde artist Tamia. Featured on the Nurse with wound list of influences. Tamia uses hear a wide range of experimental techniques and shows the great capacities of the most expressive music instrument, the human voice. The only instrument used on this album is the voice without any technical manipulation of the sound. No technical effects or processing of the recordings has been made...really difficult to believe if you listen closely to this album you'll be wondering:how can she do this without any processing and without electronic help?? Can be best described as the female "Cantare la voce" from Demetrio Stratos! With the vocal appearence of Pierre Charpy, Martine Chouraqui, Benedicte de la Commune, Rosine Gamblin, Colin Harris, Yves Lartigue, Philippe Laurent, Beatrice Lefevre, Annick Mevel Dominique Montain, Helene Noyer, Henri Ogier, Angele Saul, Daniel Schropfer, Denise Schropfer, Bernard Vitet.

Tamia’s wordless/invented language is meant to let her vocal range wander freely from muttered oneiric complaints to cute erotic utterances, from distant longing murmurs to tribal african chanting, sometimes augmented by rerecording. Comparisons with contemporary american singers doesn’t seem obvious to me, whereas I’m hearing echoes from Debussy’s Pelleas & Mélisande (an opera dealing with shades and water themes) and african ethnic elements. Additionaly, there’s a concern with tonality and pitch in this music which is a traditional feature of french or japanese music. Tamia has collaborated with swiss drummer Pierre Favre when they met during the 1972 Chateauvallon jazz music festival in France and the ensuing Michel Portal LP. The pair made 3 albums as a duo and took part in 2 further collective albums. Not far from Diamanda Galas, Joan La Barbara, Meredith Monk, Henri Chopin, Bernard Heidsieck, Sten Hanson, Text sound compositions..

Condition: Vinyl lies in mint- condition, looks super clean and plays perfectly, while cover lies in excellent- to very good++ shape with light age wear, nearly impossible to find a better copy today.
