Description
Please note: due to a recent run of late/non paying buyers, I would request that payment be made within 24 hours of end of auction. Thanks for your understanding!
Up for grabs is a scarce copy of Tamam Shud's classic "Evolution" lp. Great Australian hard psych rock from the late 60s....this is one of the rarest and most collectable lps of that genre and period. As noted on the back cover, four of the tracks featured on Paul Witzig's ground breaking surf movie also called "Evolution"......which unleashed the backhand surfing of Wayne Lynch.
Apparently the lp was crudely recorded in a live session in a small back room......which gives the music a real rawness. I really like the sound of the album, but god knows how good/different it could have been if it was recorded/produced in a proper studio!
The cover is (VG-). No splits. Tiny tear from opening edge on front. Has some edge/corner/shelf/ring wear. Some sticky tape residue near the spine....could possibly be removed but I haven't tried. Small writing top back. A decent cover with no major issues that displays well!
Vinyl is (G+). Retains some of it's original sheen but has numerous light scratches and scuffs. Two scratches on side two are just feelable, but they play though on my turntable with light ticks (@1.5g stylus pressure). Overall, plays through with light background noise and ticks/pops in places. Not a mint copy, but still a decent playing copy!
Labels are (Ex-)....couple faint spindle marks but otherwise clean.
This would make a great playing copy to keep your mint copy intact....or would make a great display piece or cover upgrade! Either way, a very collectable pice of Oz 60s rock!
Can pickup from Rye, Vic, or will happily post at buyers expense. Thanks for looking, good luck!
