Description
Very Rare Bill Haley and His Comets "I'm Gonna Dry Every Tear With a Kiss" and "Why Do I cry Over You"
Since advertising this record I have found out that it is a super rare 1956 UK Melodisc release of the 1950 Atlantic verion by Bill Haley and the Saddlemen although on the UK 78 label it says "with his Comets"
I can only find one other copy of this for sale and it is in the USA at $150. A record dealer advises me that it is worth at least £60 in the UK, so my starting price is £39.99
More of my 78 record collection going as these are getting too valuable to store! This classic hit is in great condition and plays well on my test equipment. I have cleaned the surface in warm water and any spots seen on the record now are just due to static and can be blown or gently wiped off!
One side label is 'bumpy' as can be seen from the pictures, but it is dry and securely in place.
On the photo there appears to be a scuff mark on "Why Do I Cry Over You" but it has no effect on playing (just tried again). There is slight crackling at times but no pops or jumps and some parts are not as clear as on a mint record. There is fabulous slide/steel guitar on "Why Do I..."
I am experimenting with packing, but as usual with me, it will be overkill hence the P&P price.
Please read the following carefully:
I guarantee money back if not satisfied for any reason, so please bid with confidence.
From abroad please use Paypal, but from buyers in the UK, I will also accept cheques or postal orders.
Do not pay immediately if you want extra Post, Packing, Tracking or Insurance options. Please request these in an Ebay message within 24 hours of the auction ending. If these can’t be added to the invoice but are still requested before posting, I can send a separate PayPal request.
For valuable items going abroad, I will now insist on a fully tracked delivery service with compensation, unless the buyer specifically takes responsibility for all losses at their own cost.
Thanks for bidding. Good luck!!
