Sun Ra "Strange Worlds In My Mind" LP Jazz Rare Archives Used

Key Features

This eBay listing features a rare and valuable collection from the "Talking Sun Ra" series, a groundbreaking series that uncovers Sun Ra's most treasured recordings beyond his well-known works. This first volume compiles a fascinating selection of Sun Ra's early 1950s-60s recordings, including his provocative space-themed poetry readings, rehearsal tapes, and more. Opening with a sensational track by the legendary Yochanan, blending cosmic R&B, Jump Blues, and Twist styles, the album offers a unique glimpse into Sun Ra's experimental phase. The collection includes 18 tracks, showcasing rare percussion and poetic performances reminiscent of Moondog's style, along with rehearsal recordings that deepen the listener's understanding of his creative evolution. Building upon the earlier "DooWop From And Beyond" series, this release is issued by US label NORTON in 2010. The record is in excellent condition, having been rarely played, and is sold as a used item with no claims or returns. A must-have for collectors and fans of Sun Ra's pioneering jazz and cosmic sound explorations.
