Ra (p, comp, poetry) with Ali Hassan, Teddy Nance (tb); Marshall Allen (as); John Gilmore (ts); Pat Patrick (bs); Robert Cummings (b cl); Ronnie Boykins (b, tu); Clifford Jarvis (d); James Jackson (log d, fl); and Carl Nimrod (sun h, gong).
Recorded, at various New York state colleges, in may 1966.
This Issue: On front cover: A great Ra photo, with him staring through a large flame, has a blue background with his name in white, stylized letters above his face. Album title also in white letters, on the left side. (A Ra poem is below the title.)
On back cover: Same stylizing of letters of artist's name, only in black on white background. Ra's poems flank a chiaroscuro image of him. Production information includes, on successive lines, "BASE RECORD", "VIA CASTIGLIONE, 109 - BOLOGNA, ITALY", and the phone and telex numbers. At bottom, centered, is West German distribution information.
Catalog number on back: ESP-DISK' 1045; on spine: ESP 1045; and on labels: ESPS 1045.
Center Labels and Runouts: ?All red-ink writing on tan background. Artist's name, track titles, and composer credit all above center hole. "33", "rpm", and "SIDE ONE" on successive lines left of hole; "STEREO", "ESPS 1045", and "S.I.A.E." on successive lines right of hole. "BASE RECORD" logo and "ESP DISK" at bottom, with purple-ink stamp (this last on side one only).

Condition of Record: NM. No spindle wear, blemishes, or other marks on either side. Record has been played two or three times but is clean; no visible wear.
Condition of Cover: Album cover shows some wear. Front-cover image and text are fine, no marks, bends, or crimps. No ringwear, either. Four corners have rubbing; open-end corners slightly bumped. Back cover has general rubbing, with some ringwear at top and more of greying than ringwear at bottom. Lower-right corner (closed end) has a half-inch stain; similar stain at open end of back, about half way between top and bottom. Spine text is clear; minor wear toward bottom. Horizontal edges: top, half-inch chip in middle, rest good; bottom, wear throughout though no splits.
I have carefully kept the record stored upright on a shelf, away from sunlight, in its sleeve and cover.
I'm an independent seller divesting his own record collection. I'm not selling from a store or warehouse, with multiple copies of titles, or on behalf of a professional collector.
Shipping: Ebay requires seller to indicate shipping methods and other particulars, then automatically inserts the cost at the top of the listing. Buyer will pay amount as determined by destination, by shipping method he chooses, and by required insurance (see: below); I don't gouge the price to make more profit. (USPS Media Mail is cheapest; I will provide prices for US Priority, or for FedEx or UPS ground, if requested.)
Insurance is mandatory on shipments to US addresses: The final price of the item determines the amount of insurance required. Please wait till I inform you of your total cost prior to submitting payment. It and not Ebay's stated cost is the amount to be paid.
**For winners outside US**: USPS shipping options are International Priority and International Express. Both methods include insurance but only Express provides a return receipt. (Check USPS's website for shipping prices.) If you want a private-company shipper, I will quote you the cost at end of auction. First-Class-Package service, which doesn't include insurance, is an option; the shipping cost will be lower, but if your item doesn't arrive you have no recourse. The risk is yours.
Packing: The LP will be carefully placed in the standard cardboard LP box. If you want cardboard inserts for extra reinforcement, please say so.
Payment: Although Ebay now processes payments directly, I also accept Paypal. I accept cash in cases of in-person deliveries.
Returns: Returns will be accepted in cases of error in description.
