Description

Sun Ra's 1969 recording "My Brother the Wind, Vol. 2" on El Saturn Records. Ra is joined by Kwame Hadi, Akh Tal Ebah,  Marshall Allen, Danny Davis, John Gilmor, Danny Ray Thompson, Pat Patrick, James Jacson, Alejandro Blake, Clifford Jarvis, Lex Humphries, Nimrod Hunt, William Brister, and Robert Cummings. Disc shows very slight surface scuffing that I doubt is audible. Jacket is in excellent condition.

Sun Ra devotees know that he sold many of his albums at his concerts. Some of these are very low in production value and high in collectibility. This album features a white jacket that is hand-colored. Notice that it says "Otherness." According to Robert Campbell's online Sun Ra discography, Ra released the album under both names. Indeed this album says Otherness on the front and My Brother the Wind Vol. 2 on the back.

Like the front, the label on the disc is hand-colored too. It's remarkable to think that someone in Ra's troupe would take the time to do this. There's a mimeographed list of the songs taped to the reverse of the jacket. Many of my Ra albums have these song listings. Given that the jacket is largely blank, it's very helpful.

Buyer may pay with PayPal or money order. Shipping in the USA is $4. More, elsewhere. Albums are carefully packaged for safe shipment. I will gladly combine shipments to save you money if you purchase more than one LP. Be sure to check my other auctions this week and in the weeks to come.

This is from my personal collection of 1800 LPs. I take very good care of my albums, storing them upright, never touching the grooves, and always playing them on high-quality equipment. Since I don't have time to listen to each album before selling, and because different turntables respond differently (the lighter the tone arm, the more likely a small surface blemish will result in a skip), I can't guarantee performance. But there are very, very few records in my collection that skip on my equipment. I visually inspect each album before listing them on eBay and assess them on that basis. Some of my records have a number written in blue magic marker on the jacket front that should be visible in the photo. [Not this one.]
