Sun Ra & His Arkestra *Space Probe* / *Invisible Shield* HYBRID. Discographer's nightmare! Hybrid LPs are what happens when the pressing plant accidentally mixes up the LP stampers, stamping one side of one LP, and the other side of another, onto the same slab of vinyl. What we have here is the A- or B-side (B-side according to the label, and A-side according to the lead-out groove matrix number) of *Space Probe* (El Saturn 527 a/k/a 142000-B) and the B-side of *Invisible Shield* (El Saturn 14400-B). *Space Probe* was recorded in NYC, probably in 1970. *Invisible Shield* is believed to date from sessions recorded between 1963 and 1970, issued in 1973. NOTE: I don't deal in Sun Ra bootlegs, of which there are a shameful plethora out there now.
