Sun Ra Cosmos (Inner City IC 1020) first US issue - blue center labels
Ra (kybd, comp) with Ahmed Abdullah (t); Craig Harris (tb); Vincent Chancey (fr h); Marshall Allen, Danny Davis (as, fl); John Gilmore (ts); Danny Thompson (bs, fl); Elo Omoe (b cl, fl); Jac Jackson (bsn, fl); R Anthony Bunn (el b); and Larry Bright (d).
Recorded, in Paris, in august 1976.
This Issue: On front cover: dark blue background with eight planets painted (plus the terrestrial one, in closeup), with one that looks like Saturn in the foreground. Artist's name in blue ink, toward top, on angle. Album title in same-stylized white lettering, laid out straight, at bottom. "INNER CITY 1020" in tiny, dark letters in upper-right corner. On back cover: White background, with artist's name and album title at the top and complete personnel listed underneath. Track titles and times ranged right, below personnel list; liner note ranged left, in two columns, running to bottom. "(C) (P) 1977 Inner City Records" lower right, with, underneath, "43 W 61 Street, New York City 10023". Bottom right: Inner City logo with, underneath and to right, "Printed in the U.S.A.".
Center Labels and Runouts: ?Blue label; all lettering in white. "43 WEST 61 STREET NEW YORK CITY 10023" in quarter circle at top, from noon to three. Below that, "Side One" and "IC 1020" on two lines, from top to bottom, left of center hole: artist's name and album title, with track titles and times on successive lines. Inner City logo underneath center hole.

Condition of Record: NM. No spindle wear, blemishes, or marks on either side. A bit of dust on both; one smudge mark in runout on side two.
Condition of Cover: Front shows a little general wear, more slight greying of dark blue than ringwear. One crimp toward closed end, an inch from the top. More greying, a little whiting toward open end. Slight pinching at bottom. Small factory-made cutout, triangular, at top right. Back clean, all text very good; no marks or other signs of wear. Lower-right corner, closed end, bumped. Top corner, closed end, not quite bumped. Spine other than corners perfect. Horizontal edges: top, shelfwear for an inch; bottom, shelfwear for the length.
I'm the original owner of the record. I have carefully kept it stored upright on a shelf, away from sunlight, in its sleeve and cover.
I'm an independent seller divesting his own record collection. I'm not selling from a store or warehouse, with multiple copies of titles, or on behalf of a professional collector.
Shipping: Ebay requires seller to indicate shipping methods and other particulars, then automatically inserts the cost at the top of the listing. Buyer will pay amount as determined by destination, by shipping method he chooses, and by required insurance (see: below); I don't gouge the price to make more profit. (USPS Media Mail is cheapest; I will provide prices for US Priority, or for FedEx or UPS ground, if requested.)
Insurance is mandatory on shipments to US addresses: The final price of the item determines the amount of insurance required. Please wait till I inform you of your total cost prior to submitting payment. It and not Ebay's stated cost is the amount to be paid.
**For winners outside US**: USPS shipping options are International Priority and International Express. Both methods include insurance but only Express provides a return receipt. (Check USPS's website for shipping prices.) If you want a private-company shipper, I will quote you the cost at end of auction. First-Class-Package service, which doesn't include insurance, is an option; the shipping cost will be lower, but if your item doesn't arrive you have no recourse. The risk is yours.
Packing: The LP will be carefully placed in the standard cardboard LP box. If you want cardboard inserts for extra reinforcement, please say so.
Payment: Although Ebay now processes payments directly, I also accept Paypal. I accept cash in cases of in-person deliveries.
Returns: Returns will be accepted in cases of error in description.
