Description
Strong VG mono pressing of Wayne Shorter's superb 1966 Blue Note LP Adam's Apple, BLP 4232. This is the much-sought-after mono version of the LP, which was released after Blue Note had been purchased by Liberty. Very few of these were pressed compared to the stereo version. RVG sound is in full effect; “Van Gelder” stamped into the deadwax.
Vinyl: VG. I am grading the vinyl VG because of its cosmetic smudges, none of which have an impact on the sound of the vinyl, but it sounds more like VG+. A tiny bit of background noise remains in quieter passages, but this is minimal and never overtakes production which is strong and clear and vivid. There are no skips pops or clicks. See photos for details.
Cover: G. Front cover is clean and retains original matte finish, but has significant damage to cardboard, which is held together with tape. Back has more substantial water damage and mold as well as name of former owner written in pen. Although spine is solid and intact there is some seam splitting along bottom edges and residue of tape from earlier owner. See photos for details.
LP will come in protective Mobile Fidelity archive-quality sleeve. Cover will come in thick vinyl protective sleeve.
