Description
Strong Mono first pressing of Freddie Hubbard's classic first LP as a leader featuring deep groove labels, “RVG” and Plastylite “Ear” stamped into run-out grooves. Both labels read “Blue Note Records Inc, 47 W 63d NYC,” while back cover reads “Blue Note Records Inc, 43 West 61st St, New York 23.”
Vinyl: VG. Vinyl has visible cosmetic scratches and smudges but none of these affect play. Some background noise in quieter passages, but this is minimal and never overtakes strong and clear RVG sound. Plays somewhere between VG and VG+. No skips, pops, or clicks. Labels are bright and clear except for a small bit of writing in pen by previous owner on Side 1 label. Great daily use copy that would benefit from a good cleaning. See photos for details.
Cover: VG. Front cover retains bright original glossy finish but some gumminess on left center from tape residue (could be removed by restoration expert). Back cover is bright and clean but has five small square stains from tape that once held spine together, now removed. Spine has significant damage to lettering and also has seam splitting. Otherwise, cover is structurally sound and intact; except for above cosmetics, very attractive overall. See photos for details.
LP will come in protective Mobile Fidelity archive-quality sleeve. Cover will come in thick vinyl protective sleeve.
