Description
This is the very rare test pressing edition of Porcupine Tree's Waiting which was only circulated within the band so that they could check the mastering quality before the retail version was pressed up.
This copy is from Richard Allen's personal collection. Richard ran Delerium and signed Porcupine Tree in the early 1990s managing them up until 2003.
Every Delerium vinyl release had a special limited run of test pressings with custom made sleeves. Waiting was issued in a run of six copies and each copy was enclosed in a white card sleeve with paste on artwork front and back.
The test pressing is dated 8th of March 1996 and has titles hand written on the labels.

WAITING
"Waiting" is the first proper single by Porcupine Tree. Previous releases that might be regarded as singles had in effect been Steven Wilson solo projects/lengthy EP's. "Waiting" featured the whole band and a sound that would become the foundation of their future musical direction.
The single was released in May 1996 and came in two formats: a regular CD and a 12" vinyl. At the time, the single was intended to promote the forthcoming album Signify. The song is divided into two parts, the second one being an instrumental follow-up
The song entered the UK Indie Chart, attracting airplay all over Europe.
Porcupine Tree contributed an edit of "Waiting (Phase Two)" to the film music for the Paul Spurrier's movie Underground, whereas the credits erroneously listed "Waiting (Phase One)".
