Description

This is the album that started it all.  It's a brand new perfect test pressing that has been played only once or twice. It was owned by Richard Allen who signed Porcupine Tree and released this first record on his label Delerium.  It is in effect the very first Porcupine Tree record ever made! Only a couple of test pressings were made prior to the manufcturing of the album so that the sound quality could be checked. The other copy is probably in the posession of Steven Wilson.

The records are date stamped 5th of March 1992.

The test pressing has hand made labels and is contained in a finished retail copy of the gatefold album sleeve. The original gatefold sleeve design was changed for subsequent (later) vinyl editions of the album.

The sleeve and records are in near perfect condition.

ON THE SUNDAY OF LIFE

On the Sunday of Life is the debut album by Porcupine Tree, first released in July, 1992. It compiles tracks that Steven Wilson produced and recorded for two cassette-only releases, Tarquin's Seaweed Farm (1989) and The Nostalgia Factory (1991).

Most of the lyrics were written by Alan Duffy, the founder of Imaginary Records and a pen friend with whom Steven Wilson had lost touch a few years before the album was released. The album title was chosen from a long list of nonsense titles compiled by Richard Allen of Delerium.

The finished vinyl album was only released in an edition of  at most 2000 copies and is hrd to find in good condition.
