Info: Being part of the production process, we (that is Tonefloat, Crazy Diamond's record label) will be offering several copies of the limited edition of Insurgentes over the next few weeks. The reason for this the absurd amount of money asked elsewhere for Insurgentes. This auction is for the VINYL edition (with four beautiful slabs of 10inch vinyl).

For this very reason the profites of this auction will be donated to a dutch foundation that saves geese from being tormented and killed, and has opened a field of over 600 acres to allow these wonderful creatures to have a safe and pleasant life. Maintainig such a field costs a lot of money (food, fencing, medicins), remember geese can be as old as 45 years! The foundation is called Akka's Ganzenparadijs (Akka's Goose Paradise).

So.... don't bid too much, but know that every penny will be donated to a good cause.

the album...

Insurgentes is the first Steven Wilson solo album, recorded all over the world between January-August, and due for release in November as a special deluxe multi disc mail order version. The special multi disk edition will be available as a 2 CD/1 DVDA version (limited to 3,000 copies), and a 4 x 10 inch vinyl version (limited to 1,000 copies), both with hardback book. Both editions will only be available to order from this website. A standard retail CD version will be issued early in 2009.

the four 10inches feature the album itself, and als include songs recorded during the sessions but not included on the main album.

The hardback book contains a breathtaking set of photographs captured by Lasse Hoile and Susana Moyaho during SW's travels around the world making the album and shooting on location for the documentary. All designed by Carl Glover, printed on super high quality paper and bound in a hard cloth cover with embossed text. The ultimate collector's piece. The album will not be made available again in this deluxe form.

The album itself is one of the most creative, emotive and diverse works of SW's career, including everything from sublime ballads, gorgeous shoegazer anthems, to all out industrial noise assaults, enhanced by several guest appearances by both long term and new collaborators. The title of the album comes from Avenida de los Insurgentes, the longest avenue in Mexico City, where some of the album was recorded.
