Description

For those who don’t already know, Steely Dan is an American rock band founded in 1971 in New York by Walter Becker (guitars, bass, backing vocals) and Donald Fagen (keyboards, lead vocals). Originally having a full band lineup, by the end of 1974 Becker and Fagen chose to stop playing live and continue Steely Dan as a studio-only duo, utilizing a revolving cast of session musicians.  Their music blended elements of rock, jazz, Latin music, R&B, blues along with sophisticated studio production capped  with cryptic and ironic lyrics. The band enjoyed critical and commercial success with seven studio albums including this album, peaking with their top-selling album Aja, released in 1977.  It is hard to find a bad song on any of their albums and it is not hard to understand why several of their albums were re-released on Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs.  Katy Lied is arguably the most successful MFSL release and was always hard to find even when it was in production.  Given the like new condition of this album for sale, it would be prudent to jump on this album either as a new addition to your album collection or a replacement for a worn old copy of this Steely Dan album classic.
