Description
March 17th 1967. Finsbury Park Astoria, later to become The Rainbow. The Stax/Volt Tour featuring Booker T & The MGs, Carla Thomas, Sam & Dave, Eddie Floyd, Arthur Conley, The Mar-Keys and Otis Redding. All compered by Emperor Rosco.
I was there and can probably be heard clapping on these 2 discs, which captured the atmosphere of that evening very well.
I bought the programme, which must be relatively rare 38 years later, on the night and the discs as soon as they were issued. I've kept them all together ever since.
Listening to these records and looking through the programme can bring back memories for anyone who was there that night. For anyone who wasn't it's possible to imagine you were!!

I remember Arthur Conley performing Sweet Soul Music but that's not inlcuded here.
Great piece of nostalgia or just a great live listening experience for any fan of Southern Soul.
On 27-Oct-05 at 14:59:49 BST, seller added the following information:Both discs are in excellent condition and have been stored, with the programme, for years. Covers have a few signs of their age. Volume 2 has some wear on corners. Volume 1 has wear to spine and corners. This is partly due to the fact that Volume 2 is laminated all over whereas Volume 1 is laminated on the front only.
