Status Quo: 1982 fully signed vinyl album.

Signed in biro by Francis, Rick, Alan, Andy Bown and Pete Kircher. Nice bold, large and clear sigs

This was purchased from either HMV or Our Price (I think) when first released when a very limited number of these signed copies were available hence they are now becoming increasingly hard to find.

When originally bought (new) was played at most 3 or 4 times.

The disc and cover where then separated with the cover being framed and glazed and hung on a wall.

Front of cover has very slight  darkening around the edge, but this doesn’t affect the signatures.

On the rear of the cover at the top are two residual adhesive tape marks from when it was framed. Also along the bottom is a slightly darker line – see photos.

Otherwise sleeve is in very good condition, no splits, dings or creases with sharp corners.

Inner bag also in pristine condition.

Visual inspection reveals disc in apparent pretty good condition, deep glossy lustre. with no obvious significant visual flaws, some feint hairline marks and odd finger prints to edges. No spindle wear.

 To be honest though the value and collectability of this album is the sleeve and signatures rather than the standard UK pressing within – just saying.

I aim to use recycled packaging when possible, but rest assure that your vinyl will be well packed and protected against the trials of postal travel!

A few words about the vinyl grading.

I try to be as honest as possible, but all grades are based upon an experienced but ultimately subjective visual inspection, trying to identify and highlight obvious issues.

Back in the day whilst my Dad purchased much of the vinyl new, as he expanded his collection , (eventually running into a few thousand discs) hence many only played once, inevitably he was drawn to second hand (pre-loved) copies of certain discs, including the rarer original 1970’s issue boots.

As you will appreciate, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this or looking at the listing, the nature of many of these live/unofficial recordings meant that original production standards were not necessarily a top priority, with occasional mastering/pressing faults occurring.

Similarly with any second hand vinyl which in some cases is almost 50 years old they will potentially exhibit aural signs of having been played, sometimes a fair bit..these are not mint, new unplayed discs (unless stated).

The attraction for my Dad was either obtaining the different variations of an issue or otherwise unavailable rare recordings…its called collecting!

When playing vinyl my Dad had a Technics SL1800 turntable with Ortfon cartridge, so no thrashing and grinding on an old  fidelity UA4! (early 70’s starter bedroom lo-fi, crank it up ?).
