Description
This is quite a find; an extremely nice copy of the ultra rare 2xLP “The Stark Reality Discovers Hoagy Carmichael’s Music Shop,” released in 1970 as the music for the WGBH/21”Classroom television series. This is in no way a typical children’s show soundtrack; this is some seriously weird and complex Zappa-esque jazz/rock fusion, and quite an interesting ride it is. This is as nice a copy as one is likely to see; the vinyl and gatefold cover both rate a very strong VG+; One of the two records has a scuff on each side, but these scuffs were not audible in play. The other LP is M-. The cover is a strong VG+ with some extremely faint surface wear and a distributor’s sticker is affixed to the lower center of the back side. Musicians include Monty Stark on vibes/voice, John Abercrombie on guitar, Phil Morrison on bass and Vinnie Johnson on drums. An excellent record. The last copy we are aware of went for upwards of $300.00, had a heavily water- damaged cover and only one of the two LPs was included. This is the full album in excellent condition, a really rare find!
