Description
This is an extremely rare double single issue featuring BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN under the guise of THE JERSEY DEVIL
The first record is on BRUCE RECORDS and the tracks are: RENDEZVOUS and FEVER. This is pressed on black vinyl
The second record is labelled: TEST and features the tracks: BECAUSE THE NIGHT (Possibly performed by PATTI SMITH) and SANTA CLAUS. This record is pressed on RED VINYL.
I've been trying to find out the provenance of these recordings and came up with this from Wikipedia:
"The Fever" is an early Bruce Springsteen song, it was recorded and released on an extremely rare 7" demo to promote the band, coupled with 'Rendezvous', a live track recorded in New York - the track opens with Bruce calling out "New York! Go ahead, Max!". The single was released under The Jersey Devil and was pressed on Bruce Records, which was Springsteen's own independent label for his band. It was performed by Springsteen in concert beginning in March 1973. It was recorded in 914 Sound Studios in May 1973, during sessions for Springsteen's second album The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle, but was directed towards a demo purposing for manager Mike Appel's Laurel Canyon publishing arm instead and named "Fever For the Girl".
I haven't played either of the records (no turntable), so cannot vouch for the content, but the vinyl on each looks to be unplayed since new
The singles are each housed in a white bag and the package is completed with a 7" x 7" single page cover in a PVC sleeve
This is clearly a very rare and collectable item
