Description
The Spontaneous Music Ensemble – Challenge, 1966 LP, Eyemark Records, EMPL 1002.
This is a lovely example of the hard-to-find LP Challenge by The Spontaneous Music Ensemble. It was released on the Eyemark Records label in 1966 – EMPL 1002. The record is in wonderful shiny Near Mint – or even Mint condition. I hardly ever use the term Mint in my listings as logic says that a 40+ year old record cannot be in the same condition now as it was when it was pressed. But this one is amazing! It is lovely and shiny, with perhaps just the slightly trace of a paper scuff or two that can only be seen under certain lighting. I suspect that somebody bought it, played it once (or perhaps not even more than a couple of minutes if they really did not like what they heard) and then it was put back in the cover and forgotten about for many years / decades. The cover has one small fault that it has acquired during all those years of storage in that there is a small rub at the top edge that has split the laminate there and the card is split for about half an inch. Which is annoying but cannot be helped now, and other than that and small bump to the tip of the top right corner, it grades as EX to EX+. It is not discoloured or faded in any way. It still displays perfectly well, unless by chance you want to look directly down onto the top edge!! (And in my opinion the record is the most important bit and as I say – that is stunning!)
It is impossible to be an expert in all realms of collecting, and I am honestly representing this item to the best of my knowledge and ability. If the item has a fault then I have mentioned it. I ask that you read the description and examine the photos carefully. I also encourage you to ask any questions you may have during the auction to help clarify identification or condition, as I may inadvertently omit information that you as a collector feel is important. My email address is oldvan.ebay@btinternet.com
I am not able to provide scans of paper items and I have no facility to record / copy any records.
CONDITION. The majority of items that I list are between forty and sixty years old. Some are older and some may be a few years younger. I have described the condition of the item in my text but where applicable I have also ticked the 'used' box as even where an item is 'perfect', it is very old and logic says it must have been handled and probably used at some time over the decades!
ALL of my AUCTION ITEMS are now listed with
FREE POSTAGE
IN THE UK.
(They are not actually free to post of course! I have to pay to post them but for UK bidders the price you see at the end of the auction is the total price you pay. Foreign postal rates are clearly stated).
DELIVERY TIMES. Although I have ticked the Royal Mail 2nd Class Standard option, please note that some items do go first class and also, although I have also stated that items will go out within two working days, many items go out within 24 hours of being paid for. Many people in the UK receive their items within 36-48 hours of payment being received.
PACKAGING. Please note that all of my items are well-packed in thick card or in boxes, and then wrapped in good quality brown paper. I do not make any separate charge for packaging materials - everything is included in the final price. Many of my feedback comments mention my good packaging and I will of course continue to meet my own standards.
OVERSEAS BIDDERS Tracking Number. This item will have a tracking number when I post it. This is reflected in the shipping price. (Please be aware of that as I do try to keep my shipping prices as low as I can. £4 of the stated shipping cost will be going towards the Royal Mail's International Recorded Delivery service).
