Description

Spiritualized - Live (of Spacemen 3) Double LP

1998 - Deconstruction

Spiritualized were touted as one of the best Live bands around the late 90's, and this album captures just that. A great band in their prime. Recorded live at the Royal Albert Hall, London, 1997.

Spiritualized constantly updated their set lists & arrangements to keep the live shows fresh & exciting. The live arrangements were often better than the recorded versions, as band leader Jason Pierce continued to perfect the songs free from the constraints of a recording deadline. Live performances often switch seamlessly from delicate chiming melodies to a 'wall of sound' controlled chaos and back again.

This album is definitely not a live 'cash in' album, it delivers performances beyond their previous recorded versions. Pierce also revisits the Spacemen 3 track: 'Walking with Jesus' and the gospel standard: 'Oh Happy Day'.
