There have been so few vinyl LPs produced over the last 5 years that you should never pass up the opportunity to upgrade your collection. They're each very limited in their pressings and disappear with extraordinary quickness from the vinyl market. This causes prices to skyrocket because once they are gone, they are gone forever! Don't second-guess yourself with this chance to upgrade your collection because before you know it, the opportunity will have passed forever.

One of the most adventurous bands of the late 1960s, Spirit never really found as wide an audience as they deserved for their eclectic blend of rock, jazz, blues, and pop. It was never a question of whether Spirit was the best band in the world at what they did. They were probably the only one. The groundbreaking Los Angeles five piece -- vocalist, Jay Ferguson, Randy California on guitar, keyboardist John Locke, Mark Andes on bass and drummer Ed “Cass” Cassidy -- blended jazz, high voltage rock, folk, blues and avant garde noise into something uniquely their own; without peer and without parameters.

Tracks include: Versa - Free Spirit - If I Had A Woman - Elijah - Fog - So Little To Say - Mellow Fellow - Now Or Anywhere - Space Chile.

THE FAMIY THAT PLAYS TOGETHER - The closest the group came to mainstream acceptance was this, their 1968-released second album. Propelled by guitarist Randy California’s catchy riffing, his stepfather-drummer, Ed Cassidy’s rock-solid beat, and Jay Ferguson’s bluesy vocal, “I Got A Line On You” became a Top 40 hit single and practically defined underground FM Radio in 1968. Listeners who were interested enough to buy the LP were rewarded with such broad-horizoned fare as keyboardist John Locke’s jazz-flecked “Space Chile”, Ferguson’s string-aided “Silky Sam”, and California and Cassidy’s frisky “It’s All The Same.”

If any rock band was born to score films it was SPIRIT.

Marveling a the cinematic possibilities of FOG, A MOODY, Locke Piece from NOW OR ANYWHERE - companion volume to this album -- Ferguson calls it a “great film cue…a tremendous ambiant mood piece.” SPIRIT finally took the plunge into movies in 1969 when their scintillating score accompanied THE MODEL SHOP. Welcome to EVENTIDE, soundtrack to another film, one that exists only I the mind. EVENTIDE is a captivating collection of material unreleased at the time.
