Melbourne-based rock band Spectrum is best remembered for their hit single, "I'll Be Gone", although that much loved song does not appear here.  "Part One" is an appealing progressive rock effort dominated by idiosyncratic lyrics & trippy keyboards, similar to late 1960s Pink Floyd, although there is a distinct Aussie flavour to their overall sound.  Lead singer & guitarist Mike Rudd had previously been a member of Chants R&B (NZ), Party Machine, and Sons of the Vegetal Mother.  After Spectrum disbanded, Mike Rudd & Bill Putt formed Ariel with a few others.  Spectrum's debut album is one of the earliest 'local recording' releases for the then newly formed Australian arm of the British 'progressive rock' record label, Harvest Records.

Cover: EX (front, laminated), VG+ to VG++ (back, matte finish) / minor creasing [mainly along spine & corners], seam split along bottom [centre], light to moderate ring-wear + surface rubbing on back, also light discolouration + two spot stains on back [top-left & near bottom-right]

Disc (Visual): Side 1 // EX to EX+ overall except * "Make Your Stash" > VG++ / beautiful glossy sheen - insignificant hairlines & one light surface scuff on first track*, earliest sign of humidity on vinyl surface [seen under strong light]

Side 2 // EX to NEAR MINT overall except ** "Mumbles I Wonder Why" [mid-section only] > VG+ / beautiful glossy sheen - insignificant hairlines & one light surface scratch midway through final track** [seen under strong light]

Disc (Audible): VG++ to NEAR MINT / Played from beginning to end - sounds impressive (mainly EX+ to NEAR MINT), despite some minor underlying surface noise during a few brief passages.  Definitely NO skips or jumps!

Considering this album mostly turns up trashed, you should be happy with this copy.  Formerly in my personal collection for many years until I found a slight upgrade a few years ago.
