"Southern Folk Heritage Series" - Atlantic SD-HS1. Original stereo 7 LP box set in outstanding condition. All of the 7 LP's are NM! Historic and important field recordings by Alan Lomax assisted by Shirley Collins, made on a two-month tour of the South in the summer of 1959. This is a post 1968 pressing, the set was originally released in 1960. Two of the records "Sounds Of The South" and "White Spirituals" are the original green, white and blue white fan label pressings with laminated covers. The other albums "Blue Ridge Mountain Music", "Roots Of The Blues", "American Folk Songs For Children", "Negro Church Music", and "The Blues Roll On" have the green, white and red labels first used in 1968. All of the records including the later labels have nice heavy vinyl pressings. Also "The Blues Roll On" and "Roots Of The Blues" have the earlier laminated covers. All of the covers are NM- in the original shrink wrap, sharp corners, no seam splits. The slipcase box is VG moderate wear at the corners and edges.
