Description
Blue Note 1558,m deep groove. The labels have 41 W 63rd St. address on both; 47 West 63rd St. address on the bottom of the back cover. Record has "ear" and "RVG" inscribed in the dead wax. 6 tracks which incluede leader, Rollins, tenor sax; J.J.Johnson, trombone; Horace Silver, piano; Paul Chambers, bass; Art Blakey, drums. Thelonious Monk, piano on 2 tracks. Cover: VG(-) 2-2"splits on the spine; 1-4" split on the top edge and l-4" split on the bottom edge. Both edge splits are at the insert edge. There is some edge wear and a small discoloration on the back cover by the spine indicating a former small piece of scotch tape. Also, there is a small strip of discoloration near the bottom edge of the back cover. This is extremely light and may have resulted from ordinary handling. Moderate aging on the back cover. Some peeling of the lamination on the insert edge and a small patch of residue from tape or a sticker on the bottom edge by the spine. This could possibly be remove with a solvent. Cover shows light handling. Record: VG+ or Better Visually shows no wear. In spite of the described wear on the cover, the record has no markings and seems to have been played only a few times. There is some light crackles and very few clic ks on the first track on each side. There is also some light occasional groove noise on Track 3, Side 2. All the noise described is light, but audible. The noise is infrequent. Much of the record plays close to Mint(-). Moderately heavy vinyl pressing. Audibly checked.
