Description

Soma Christo “The Now Present Moment…” RARE PRIVATE XIAN PSYCH FOLK ROCK LP MINT

Artist: Soma Christo Title: “The Now Present Moment Beats Inside You" Label: none (AM-1594) Year: Late 60s / Early 70s
Condition:  Vinyl - MINT Cover - MINT (STILL IN SHRINK)
Description:  rare privately pressed Christian folk rock LP out of Pheonix, AZ.  Very fuzzed out psychy / garage moments on here.  Here’s a great excerpt describing the LP from a Christian music database:
"Amateur folk ensemble doing covers of Sebastian Temple (‘Living God’), Paul Quinlan (‘It’s A Brand New Day’), Peter Scholtes (‘They’ll Know We Are Christians’), plus some original material.  Vocals gravitate toward that generic “youth folk” sound, but not too badly.  In fact they do a pretty fair approximation of God Unlimited on Tom Belt’s ‘Streams In The Desert’ and ‘God Unlimited’.  What makes this group more interesting than most is the basement electric guitar component.  You can hear it throughout the lp, but by far the best example is the closing version of Robert Edwin’s ‘With Joy’ where one can almost sense the 60’s garage band aspirations.  A couple of the girls-only selections recall The Medical Mission Sisters.  A custom production from Prince Of Peace Lutheran in Phoenix, Arizona.  Soma Christo is Greek for “body of Christ”.   (The Archivist by Ken Scott, 4th Edition).”
This is a PRISTINE copy in perfect mint condition - the vinyl appears unplayed and the jacket is still in its original shrink wrap.

BIDDERS - PLEASE READ THE BELOW
I grade my LPs VERY conservatively and accurately under a bright light.  A description of the grading scale is below:
M: MINT - perfect.  vinyl is pristine / cover is flawless and/or sealed
M- : just under mint.  a very, very slight amount of wear on the cover or inaudible wear on the vinyl (surface wear from age, generally) but is otherwise flawless
VG+: vinyl / cover shows signs minor signs age or wear that are more or less undistinct / inaudible.
VG: vinyl / cover shows some visible wear / age but is overall in very good shape.  pops and clicks may be ever so slightly noticeable, but don't effect play or overall listening experience.
VG-: vinyl / cover shows some relatively apparent age but is in overall good shape and still a fine copy to own / play.
G+: vinyl shows some heavy wear but overall sounds decent.  cover has some flaws or shows much age
G: vinyl is in pretty rough shape visibly but plays ok.  cover shows a lot of age or has some major splits or tears.
G-: vinyl looks / sounds pretty rough.  cover has major condition issues such as water damage, large rips, etc
*a double "+" or "-" indicates that the condition is just above or below the neighboring grade
