(Legendary collection of 13 of Studio One's all-time-best reggae-instrumentals..includes fantastic tunes like "Adis-A-Wa-Wa" (Bobby Kalphat), "Jack Johnson" (Magnificent Seven), "Black Up" (Karl Bryan & Count Ossie), "Heavy beat" (Cedric Brooks) or Karl Bryan's "Everyday Skank"...this comes as first release from Peckings and I was told no other release had this b/w picture-sleeve (simply a photo-copy glued on a plain sleeve...)...that's the story...infact I can't find this sleeve elsewhere on the internet...even Downbeat Specials says the following: "An excellent collection of rare roots instrumentals issued on the Peckings Studio One imprint. Along with several original rhythms we also get over-dubbed versions of some familiar classics. The majority of these titles date from the 1970s and were first released in limited numbers on 7" singles. This LP was only ever issued in a plain sleeve."...have a look: the sleeve shows a slightly different label than the one the record wears...so to me it's obvious this sleeve wasn't made by a collector (who may just have copied the label and added it to a b/w pic of Peckings) but the distributor which must have been Peckings himself...I'm selling it as I got it in the late 90s...suppose this is a rare one...no kiddin'...don't miss out!)

FEATURE: CREATION VIBES 

WAX 'N' SOUND:  ex / ex, both sides show hardly any surface marks, plays great w/ pop-a-top punch and sweet sound, there's occasional light crackle to be expected which seems to come from the pressing!

LABEL: both sides hardly any wear, NO writings/markings, NO damages!

SLEEVE: ex, shows hardly any wear, NO writings, NO damages, perfectly perfect!!

Something 'bout Sound + Vision: We shouldn't rely on visual appearance alone (as pretty looks isn’t all as they say) - therefore these records are graded after their visual appearance and their sound quality! 

I personally prefer a record with crackling but strong sound + punch to one playing clean but with surface noise from the pressing (as we find with re-pressed discs - too - often).

Grading records is a very subjective thing but I try hard to be objective as a human being can be (yes indeed, this seller is a human being). 

THIS IS MY VINYL GRADING SCALE: 

EX (= really great - EX means "excellent", really...)

VG (= nice, if you don't have an excellent one - by the way: VG means "very good"...)

G (= playable, but you might find a better one - G means "good", but this term may be a bit euphemistic to reggae-vinyl-novices. Be realistic: a record graded G doesn't jump nor stick, but that's the best I can say about it...)

P (= just a collection-filler for the hard-edged + hardest-boiled collectors + selectors + all the rudegals out there - P stands for "poor", yunno...)
