(Wikipedia Excerpts)  Simple Minds are a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1977. They have released a string of hit singles, becoming best known internationally for the song "Don't You (Forget About Me)" which topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 1985.

New Gold Dream (81–82–83–84) is the fifth studio album by Scottish band Simple Minds. The album was released in the UK in September 1982 by record label Virgin, and was a turning point for the band as they gained critical and commercial success in the UK and Europe. The album reached #3 on the UK Albums Chart.

In the U.S., A&M issued limited-edition translucent gold with maroon-colored marble vinyl pressings of the album, which is what is for sale in this listing.

In 1998, Jim Kerr (lead singer) said: "Every band or artist with a history has an album that's their holy grail.  I suppose New Gold Dream was ours.  It was a special time because we were really beginning to break through with that record, both commercially and critically.  The people that liked that record connected with it in a special way.  There was a depth to it: it created its own mythology.  It stood out.  It was our most successful record to date.

The Seller was in the retail record business in the 1970's-1980's and acquired a collection of 2500+ albums from that era, which is now being sold on Ebay. Most are promotional and collectible LPs which have never (or seldom) been played. Many are white label promos, first pressings, and often factory sealed. The collection has been securely boxed and stored in a smoke free environment since 1983, 39 years! Please check back occasionally to see my new listings. I add approx. 25–50 new LPs per week.

Grading methodology is as follows:
M (MINT) - Album is brand new, sealed, and has never been played.
NM (NEAR MINT) - Vinyl looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap. LP cover may have some light rub marks.
VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) - Vinyl may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned corners, or a slight seam split. May have slight signs of wear also may be marred by a cut out hole, sawcut, or cut corner indicating it is a promotional copy.
VG (VERY GOOD) - Vinyl has light wear, scratches, or scuffs. Covers may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached, etc.
