Description

Simon & Garfunkel-"Bookends" LP, Columbia KCS 9529, released in 1968. This is an extremely rare white label promo pressing. In addition, although it carries the Stereo catalog number, it's a Mono pressing. Vinyl, VISUALLY graded by Goldmine standards, is in VG condition on side 1 with several very light, non-feelable marks. There are also three very light circular marks, one each through "Bookends Themes", "Voices Of Old People" and "Bookends Themes (reprise)". These have been spot-checked and caused no problem with play on my stereo. Not sure what caused them. A cleaning might help but I'm going to leave that up to the winner as methods differ. Side 2 is in VG+ condition with a couple of light marks. LP labels have a circular mark around each center hole and there's a notation beside "Mrs. Robinson". Cover is in VG condition with some general age wear, some cracking along the spine and a 4" piece of white tape at the top seam. Timing strip has some DJ notations.

I'm also including a white label promo pressing of Art Garfunkel's "1979 Columbia LP "Fate For Breakfast", JC 35780. Vinyl is NM-; cover is VG.

Overall a very nice pair of LP's for the Simon & Garfunkel collector; the "Bookends" LP is very hard to find in this format.
