ANN JONES & HER WESTERN SWEETHEARTS LP HIT & RUN (Audio Lab Records AL 1556). Released 1960.
Disc is in wonderful shape. What a remarkable find! With such songs as "Hit & Run", "Jack Rabbit", & "Goodbye & Good Luck", the Sweethearts loudly proclaim they'll take no rascals. Dig the eye-catching outfits. 14 spirited performances by the "Queens of Western Swing." Original blue "Deep Groove" label with rare Audio lab logo. The same label also released rare Country LPs by Charlie Gore, Redd Stewart & The Light Crust Doughboys. All five members have autographed the back cover in ballpoint. Signatures are on plain white areas of the cover & each has also written a few words. From them, I see that Dottie Moore played bass, Blanche Emerson on steel guitar, Doodle Lankford on drums & Daure Hillman on accordian. Two small stickers are taped on the front cover. Pressed on a thick thick platter. (Matrix number: "AL-12-1556-A").

Nice flat cover free of bends, waves or ripples. Negligible corner banging. No ring wear. Beautiful rich color on a nice shiny surface. Label looks great with no marks, writing, cuts or stickers. Sharp cut hole with faint transparent spindle brushings.
