The Complete Blue Note Recordings of Sidney Bechet.
It is # 976 of 7500 sets made. It includes the recordings made from June, 1939 through Aug., 1953 for Blue Note and subsidiary labels. It features performances by Bechet along with J.C.Higginbotham, Sid Catlett, Vic Dickenson, Art Hodes, Walter Page, Pops Foster, and many others. The performances are in chronological order with several previously unissued performances. The set also includes the always informative booklet with essays by John Chilton and Max Harrison, many photos and complete session reports, personnel, and discography. This is a definitive collection for the Bechet fan as well as the avid jazz historian/collector. Overall Near Mint, box records and book, played only once.
