MONSTER RARE SHOCKING BLUE FIRST ALBUM!!!

The Shocking Blue are close to my heart and in my native Holland I keenly remember buying their early singles like "Send Me a Postcard" and "Inkpot". They were everywhere in Holland at the same time as the other great Dutch bands like Earth and Fire, Q65, Focus, The Outsiders (remember Wally?) and the Golden Earrings. Shocking Blue were a magnificent band long before "Venus"!!!! And Robby van Leeuwen of course had a great band prior to Shocking Blue, namely the "Motions". The Shocking Blue made effective use of the sitar and this, matched with Mariska's (RIP) distinctive voice, creates the band's very unique sound (Hot Sand ... anyone??). In my opinion the Shocking Blue should have gone STELLAR!!!! long before "Venus" ever came out. There are some true gems on this album. You won't be disappointed. To this day I make sure I always listen to some Shocking Blue every week.

The rarity of this item is not to be underestimated. The Shocking Blue were mainly sold as singles. There are very few albums around. This was their very first!!! !!!!! When did you last see this album on Ebay???? This HARDLY EVER comes up for sale, leave alone in this FANTASTIC NM condition!!!!!!!!!

The audio is breathtakingly sublime!!!! This album in this fantastic condition rarely comes up for sale and in my opinion it will be IMPOSSIBLE to better this. As such it is the ultimate KEEPER/VAULT copy and a mighty good investment!!!

Vinyl: EX+ Magnificent strong audio. NO skips NO jumps NO crackle NO disturbing pops. This is just AS GOOD AS IT GETS!!!!

Sleeve: EX . Laminated Gatefold.This sleeve is thin and vulnerable.This copy sails through the grading though. It is in lovely condition. The spine is straight and fully legible. In the inner gatefold printed song lyrics have been attached. There is the original Dutch price tag in the inner gatefold which reads: 't Camerahuis Mulder Westermarkt 10 Bosscheweg 429 - Tilburg" and the original price Fl.12,80.

This beautiful glossy slab of vinyl is pure quality!!!!! The vinyl looks in EX+ condition and I played it all the way through TWICE!!!, it sounds STUNNING !!!! Re-issues do just not measure up to the depth of the sound. This is just awesome!!! Supreme songcraft and most of this went under the radar!!! NO jumps, NO pops and NO skips. NO background crackle!!!! This album is playgraded on a Linn Sondek/ Rotel/ B&W set-up. The audio is simply MINDBLOWING!!!! It would be a very tough task to still upgrade from this copy. It has to be the very best one available!!!!

Rarely seen on EBAY and a must have for any serious psych/prog collector!!!!!!! This is also a great investment, most of the Shocking Blue early albums are now tucked away in collections all around the world. I have many connections to the "The Hague" scene and it is getting harder by the day to find any Shocking Blue albums or singles.

It will be hard to find a better copy than this!!!!

Labels are EX with one removed small sticker on one side leaving some glue deposit, so not 100% perfect.
