Description
The alpha and omega of Steve's recording career book-ended an epic and metaphorical train journey, beginning with playing bass guitar for post-punk Chicagoans Stations and pulling into Chicago Union Station 40 years later.
Arriving a decade since their last recorded release, and a week after Albini's death, 'To All Trains' is now impossible for anyone to listen to as anything other than a eulogy to the rock band with the most consistently and effectively employed quality control of forever. One day that will feel like a good thing.
This copy was lost in the post til yesterday, since ordering it direct from the US in May. Apparently waiting for me to pay a £26.50 import fee, and with the letter sent to communicate this itself lost in the post. A replacement vinyl copy was sent so I now have two copies of this album, racking up combined costs and fees of £91.20! Yeep. Priced to recoup some of these epic costs... or make me an offer. I remember when new Shellac records cost £8.99 and the shop boss would hold one back for you, and there would still be money left over from a tenner to buy a zine featuring a brief interview after a sound check with Trumans Water.
Free UK postage at this price. £20 overseas but I will refund you any extra you pay. I pack and post safely and pronto.
Still basically unavailable here in the UK with delays to the repress of the immediately sold out first pressing and minimal numbers appearing from the second. Grab it here while you can, before you do the unthinkable and listen to it on YouTube.
