Description

Available here is a set of (6) very unique Shakespeare LPs, (release year unknown, but a best guess is early 1960s), released by Macmillan Library Heritage Recordings. One of the LPs is a double, so the buyer is actually getting 13 discs.
This amazing, unique LP set features some top-notch Shakespearean actors of the time: Albert Finney, Claire Bloom, Paul Scofield, Vanessa Redgrave, Stanley Holloway, and Dame Edith Evans, among others.  
These LPs are from a series of "Scenes From...."  - LPs that highlight scenes from various Shakespeare plays. This series would seem to be rare as it is hard to find copies of it anywhere on the internet.
Specifically included:

  1. "Scenes From Hamlet" (Macmillan Record No. 23037). Note: this DOUBLE LP features a gatefold cover (see photos).
  2. "Scenes From A Midsummer Night's Dream" (Record No. 23041)
  3. "Scenes From Twelfth Night" (Record No. 23044)
  4. "Scenes From Romeo and Juliet" (Record No. 23042)
  5. "Scenes From Macbeth" (Record No. 23045)
  6. "Scenes From The Merchant of Venice" (Record No. 23040)
The vinyl on all LPs is in solid VG+ condition; only a handful of hairlines, nothing egregious. More smudging than anything (wipes off) and not so much of that. Plenty of gloss on all sides. The covers (glossy fronts) are in excellent shape; no seam splits, writing, or anything other than normal (light) wear. Plain paper liners have no seam splits or issues. All labels are clean and complete.
