Description
You're looking at a reference lacquer for the iconic Screeching Weasel album "Anthem For A New Tomorrow." This is the only one of these that exists. This is for the Recess Records version of the album, which never made it past the test pressing stage, making this an instant rarity and collector's item.
A reference lacquer is made before the test presses to insure proper vinyl mastering and to make any adjustments before a record is pressed. It is an aluminum disc covered in lacquer. They are often called acetate pressings. Reference lacquers are heavier than a standard record, and the sound quality deteriorates a little bit each time it's played.
I acquired this reference lacquer directly from Recess Records and it has never been played while in my possession.
