Scarecrow - Live
Spilt Milk SMFM 11278
UK 1978
Great and very sought after UK prog private press. Seldom turns up for sale these days. The band were previously known as Information and released 2 fine, and very rare, psychedelic singles in 1969 (on the Beacon label) and 1970 (on the Evolution label). The guitarist, Bill Puplett came from psych band Serendipity. The band was named after the Pink Floyd track. The album comes in enormous foldout sleeve and comes with insert, with information on the band and 2 unused stickers which show the cover design. Only 1000 of this album were ever made and this is the ultra low number 0023. Included in this auction is the chance to hear the whole album to playgrade the album yourselves and hear how good it actually is. Just click the ecommerce player above.
Giant foldout sleeve is in nice condition, does show some minor marks to the outside front and back and spine edge is feintly discoloured - check out the pics for more detail.
Vinyl has minimal scuff only and plays fine with minor surface noise only! Side 1 of the album shows a discoloured patch on the vinyl which I've tried to capture in the picture. This was due to the stickers being originally placed with the vinyl and shows up on most copies, it doesn't affect the playback at all but needs to be mentioned nonetheless. Click the player below the pictures to listen to the whole album in all its glory.
All inserts in great condition.
Labels look great and are free from any unwanted pen marks, names etc.
Overall its a great copy of an album that's getting harder and harder to find! Postage costs are below and please read all terms before bidding!
About Me
I've been a collector of psych/prog folk records for the past 20 years or so but feel I've come to a stage in my life when its time to sell up and move on. I hope to grade the albums as I would hope to find them. Over the next few months I will be listing some very desirable albums. Where time permits, I shall be uploading sound clips of the actual album playing, so you know exactly what you are going to get. As a collector I've been ripped off many times in the past with a seller claiming a mint condition album when it actually plays VG!
Postage Costs and Terms
More expensive items (ie with a finishing price of £41 and above will be sent via insured special delivery which will insure the item fully against loss or damage. This will be charged at my rates of UK £6.00, Europe £10.00, Elsewhere £14.00. The actual costs I will pay the rip-off Royal Mail for added insurance is usually quite a bit more than the rates I charge!
UK (1st class) - £4.00 (insured £6.00)
Europe (Airmail) - £6.00 (insured £10.00)
Elsewhere (Airmail) - £9.00 (insured £14.00)
I will not use Surface Mail due to the risk of loss.
Multiple buys will reduce the postal cost: Postal price includes high quality packing materials.
Within UK - Basic £4.00 postage for 1 LP and then an additonal £1.50 for each extra LP.
Within Europe - Basic £6.00 postage for 1 LP and then an additonal £2.50 for each extra LP.
Elsewhere - Basic £9.00 postage for 1 LP and then an additonal £3.00 for each extra LP.
Gradings, returns etc - Vinyl is visually graded as carefully as possible although, as grading is subjectional, I must point out that these are my own personal opinions of the grading, which, I personally, would be happy with as a buyer (and I've been a collector for the past 20 years or so). Therefore, all gradings are approximate. If I've played the album, I'll describe it as best I can in the listing. On a lot of my listings I will provide sound clips of partial or even full albums, so hopefully you will take advantage of this feature. However, if you are unhappy with the album and decide you simply cannot keep it, I will offer a full refund when the buyer has returned the item at their cost and the item is recieved in the condition that it left here. No partial refunds will be given.
PLEASE NOTE - Any postal prices given in the listings refer to UK costs only!
I Prefer Paypal (no charge), but cheques and PO's are perfectly acceptable.
E-checks - if you do not have sufficient funds in paypal an E-check is automatically issued which take an average of 7 days to clear. Goods will not be posted until the E-check has cleared.
