SCARCE! Ritchie Valens " DONNA " b/w " LA BAMBA " Classic Rock 78 CDN Apex
All my records are Cleaned and Visually / Aurally graded.
Labels - Overall VG+ Visual Grade - Overall VG+/++ Aural Grade - Overall VG+/++ with no surface noise but slight fidelity loss mostly beginning of A side from minor groove wall damage.
GRADING NOTES: I figured since I am starting to list 78's again (been busy with Photographic of late), I should add a little preamble about how I grade records and particularly, in this case, 78's. I grade Visually and Aurally which is how any record should be graded. I once picked up a large collection of '30's and '40's 78's which, visually, were in near mint condition. Aurally, there was significant groove wall damage resulting in a horrible sound. What a pity!
Generally if there is at least 30%+ shine remaining on the platter, I will allow a VG grade in spite of numerous scuffs, light scratches, etc. The greater the amount of shine and corresponding decrease in scuffs and light scratches, the higher the grade. Few sellers have enough time to list every single scuff, light scratch, etc. Unless it's a very rare 78, I will not bother listing a 78 displaying poor visual and/or aural attributes.
My grades include:
Mint Unplayed - Visually and Aurally, no spindle trails around hole Near Mint - Visually and Aurally, Superb, with super shine VG++ - Visually, very few scuffs and light scratches. Aurally, Superb VG+ - Visually, many scuffs and light scratches. Aurally, minor surface noise, the odd click or pop but little overall effect on listening pleasure VG - Visually, significant scuffs, light to heavier scratches. Aurally, significant surface noise in some areas of the track and some instrument/voice breakup from groove wall damage
